Dr. Bloemraad delivered a major address entitled Migrating People, Migrating Ideas: Policy Lessons Canada and the US Can Teach Each Other to a gathering of Berkeley Alum, senior academics from the University of Calgary and numerous business and financial leaders.
Also in attendance and sharing the podium was Jason Kenney, until recently, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, and just appointed Minister of Employment and Social Development. Minister Kenney elaborated on his foray into Silicon Valley, where he promoted synergy between the US and Canada in entrepreneurial opportunities and innovation financing.
