Chief Reginald Bellerose, member of the Muskowekwan First Nation (MFN), holds a Masters in Project Management from the University of Saskatchewan (2005) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University in History and Political Science (1995). Currently acting as Chief of MFN, Reginald Bellerose has previously held positions with the Royal Bank of Canada, the University of Alberta, and Junior Achievement Canada. These employment experiences provided him with a solid foundation in business management fundamentals as well as enhanced operational knowledge and human resource organizational development skills within the public domain and corporate environment. As Chief of Muskowekwan First Nation, Bellerose remains focused on enterprise in and for his community, primarily in the area of natural resource development and sustainability.
Rockmount was pleased to host this event attended by forty guests including alumni of the universities of Manitoba and California, Berkeley as well as a cross-section of representatives from government, business and academia who all participated in a discussion of First Nations opportunities in resource development.
Attendees included Dean Jim Dewald of Haskayne and several members of UC academic staff, Dale Bossert, Director of the Frontier Centre for Public Policy & a board member of GasFrac, Roy Berg, a prominent Calgary tax lawyer, Dean Luciuk, VP TransAlta, Professor Ed Johnson, Director of Biogeoscience Group at UC and Dr. Experience Nguagu of the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at UC.
Following the hour long presentation, a lively question period ensued well into the evening.
