Rockmount is researching the development of a used oil re-refinery that will produce high quality base oil for the automotive and industrial industries using proven state-of-the-art technology.   The project will be the only re-refinery on the Canadian prairies and is extremely viable for a number of reasons:

• Rising virgin base oil prices.
• Rising finished lubricant prices.
• Margins are improved by the low price of natural gas which competes with  raw, used oil in the fuel market.
• Peak oil is driving conservation which encourages re-refining.
• Concerns about air pollution and global warming make re-refining a preferable alternative to burning.
